Botox for Stress

Yup. It’s not a typo. This blog post is advocating the use of Botox to help manage the signs and symptoms of stress. Now, don’t get me wrong. Eliminating sources of stress from our lives by making lifestyle changes is the best thing you can do. The message that I want to convey though is that certain effects of stress can be reduced by Botox as a therapeutic agent. Perception The general sentiment when hearing about botox is that it

Fall in love with your smile

My path I had really crooked teeth in my youth. A shy kid who didn’t smile much because I didn’t want to show my teeth. We were struggling to get by, but somehow my mom managed to start me in orthodontics. I was that odd kid, so very happy to have braces. It is that investment in me that I credit as the first time I felt a real value and self worth. The changes were apparent in more than my teeth and I

Snoring and Sleep Apnea – TOP 5 reasons for oral appliances.

A better sleep. It seems obvious but if you are snoring or waking at night you are losing out on REM sleep. REM (Rapid Eye Movement) is our most restful and important phase of sleep. Saving teeth when “It doesn’t hurt”.

I understand the thought saying “it doesn’t hurt” but waiting until is does can mean serious problems. This common refrain from my patients after I explain a problem I see with their teeth. Why doesn’t it hurt? This is one of those tough things to explain. Mostly because, even as a dentist

Back to School, Back to Braces.

Obviously I’m all for keeping teeth. Straight teeth are easier to keep. This video kind of sums up my thoughts. I’m so happy to work with Dr. Matthew Witt in providing the best care for our patients. He helps those with orthodontic needs out of my clinic on Fridays. We are walking distance from McMath.

Being an Invisible Artist

Maybe the connection between dentistry and artistry isn’t clear to many people. After all, my best works are never seen. I hide the edges of veneers, tuck my porcelain work between teeth and under gumlines. I change smiles, align teeth, put teeth in and take them out. I rebuild mouths, restore function, reduce pain and prolong life. There is a real art in all of that. The art of caring for a person. Seeing a life they want for themselves
