Dr. Maureen Bea Perzan, General Dentist / Owner
Dr. Maureen Bea Perzan chose a career in dentistry to bring her passion for quality, comfortable dental care to her profession.
Having grown up in smaller Canadian cities (Thunder Bay, Prince George and rural Manitoba), Dr. Perzan finds her heart at home in Steveston (since 2004) enjoying the local community. After practicing at a dental clinic in Rosetown, Saskatchewan as well as Saskatoon, she is happy to be back providing dental care on the West Coast. Before establishing Harmony Dental Studio, Maureen worked as an associate dentist in White Rock and Surrey, instructed at Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene and served as a locum in an Orthodontic practice. Her educational background includes an HBSc Degree in Biology from Lakehead University and a DMD from the University of British Columbia.

- Ongoing training in cosmetic dentistry
Having provided volunteer children’s dental care in the Dominican Republic and Guatemala, Maureen is committed to providing care to underserviced populations. Current initiatives are focused on groups with little access to care here in Canada such as geriatric and First Nations populations and representing their needs to local MLAs.
Maureen was the winner of the Earl Ellison Award for Excellence in Geriatric Dentistry while attending UBC and it has remained a focus of her care since then.
As a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, Maureen attends courses that are specific to making beautiful natural smiles regularly but also participates in their Give Back a Smile (GBAS) Program. With this program, she can use her talents to restore the smiles (and confidence) of victims of domestic abuse.
Maureen lives, shops, and supports the Steveston community with her daughter Bryn and sons Duke and Rex. In her spare time, she enjoys jogging Richmond’s best trails, visiting local dog parks, canoeing, gardening, and cooking.

Lauree, Treatment Coordinator
Lauree started her dental career over 20 years ago after graduating from Malaspina College as a Certified Dental Assistant on Vancouver Island where she grew up in the Comox Valley. She spent a few years working as a Certified Dental Assistant in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island. After several years of full-time assisting she then went on to divide her time between assisting the dentists and working at the front desk.
She now focuses on front desk duties and patient treatment coordination. She is extremely knowledgeable about dental procedures and insurance claims and will make every effort to help patients understand their dental procedures and dental plans.
When not helping people with their dental concerns she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and friends, walking her dog on the Steveston dykes, bicycling, yoga, reading and getting outdoors.
Barb, Certified Dental Assistant
Barb has officially hung up her floss and is enjoying a well-earned retirement! She’ll still visit Harmony Dental from time to time to lend a hand — and, as always, remains a beloved part of the Steveston community.
Sharon, Dental Hygienist

Carmela, Dental Hygienist
Carmela has practiced and enjoyed over 40 years of dental hygiene experience.
UBC graduate 1984 … returned to UBC Faculty of Dentistry to instruct clinically since 2010 and continues to assist future dentists and hygienists develop in the field.
Has extensive experience with advanced periodontal therapy, care and maintenance, as well as extensive experience using local anesthesia, and gingival/periodontal assessment.
Has worked 35 years with a number of periodontal specialty offices.
Graduated high school in Richmond and is a local Steveston resident, living and raising her family in the Steveston area for 30 plus years.
Continuing education focuses on periodontics, pharmacology, and current research.
Enjoys cooking… Italian especially….. gardening, painting and coffee!! Enjoys the occasional family fishing trips, loves animals and the quiet Steveston pace of life
Carmela also speaks Italian and a little French.
Believes great healthcare requires genuine compassion, active listening, ongoing learning, clear communication, timely action, and the flexibility to adapt to each patient’s unique needs.
Stephanie, Dental Hygienist
Stephanie has been working in the dental field for nearly 20 years, starting as a dental assistant in 2004 before becoming a registered dental hygienist in 2010. With 15 years of hygiene experience under her belt, she’s passionate about helping patients feel at ease and keeping their smiles healthy.
She loves building connections with her patients and takes pride in providing gentle, personalized care. Whether it’s answering questions or helping someone feel more comfortable in the chair, Stephanie is always happy to help.
When she’s not at work, you’ll find her spending time with her two little boys.
Lisa, Office Administrator
After graduating from UBC Lisa decided to raise a family rather than to pursue a career. Once her kids were in high school she completed the dental receptionist program at BCIT and has worked at Harmony ever since.
Outside of work Lisa treasures her time with her kids (hanging on before fully becoming an empty-nester) and two dogs.
Sheena, Office Administrator
Originally from the Philippines, Sheena brings a cheerful and friendly energy to the clinic—often with a few lighthearted jokes to brighten your day. She earned her Dental Reception certificate from Langara in 2023 and draws on her teaching background to create a warm, supportive environment where patients feel truly cared for and part of the Harmony family.
When she’s not answering calls, scheduling appointments, or assisting with insurance matters, you’ll likely find Sheena enjoying a comforting cup of tea and a cookie while dreaming up her next cozy tropical getaway with her family and two beloved dogs back home.
